Target demographics: 

• Age 17 – 21
• In foster care for at least one day on or after their 14th birthday
• Youth in need of receiving assistance with employment and education services

Results to date: 

CIAO has assisted more than 500 foster youth since its inception and has provided non-monetary support and referral services to an untold number of at-risk young adults.

How youth benefit from CIAO:

• Job placement assistance
• Occupational skills training
• Case management services
• Job shadowing & paid work experience
• High school diploma and GED completion
• Employability skills (i.e. resumes, applications, interviewing skills, etc.)
• Life skills development
• Mentoring
• Referrals to other providers (i.e. mental and physical health, housing programs, etc.)
• Transportation assistance
• Interview & work clothing
• Assistance obtaining vital records
• Employment requirements (i.e. credentials, tests, fees, etc.)
• Car repairs
• Driver’s training and licensure

Obstacles:

Reduced government funds and a slowed economy have made program development and fundraising more challenging.

What your donation will allow us to do:

A donation to CIAO will allow us to continue making a difference in the lives of young people.  All donations will be used to support program participants.  If you have a preference for how you would like your donation to be utilized please provide a brief description along with your donation.
